Thirty-two of Heinrich Schütz’s Psalm settings from the Becker Psalter, selected and edited by Alice Parker.  The English texts are versions of the original Psalms newly created by poet Gracia Grindal.  The collection epitomizes hymn singing in the seventeenth century and was chosen for variety of mood and meter.  Intended for churches and classrooms, it is a useful resource for introits and short anthems as well as hymns.
